Facet ("we", "the app") is a cosmetic skincare app. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and your choices. Facet does not require an account.
If you allow AI analysis, the relevant photo is sent through our processing server to one of two AI sub-processors, solely to generate the result you requested:
Images are sent only for the duration of that single request. Facet's server does not persist or log your image bytes, and we keep no server-side copy of your photos. Each sub-processor handles the image under its own policy and does not use it to train its models on our behalf. You can decline AI analysis at any time (in Settings); declined, Facet works fully on-device and no photo ever leaves your phone.
The face photos you take are used only to generate a cosmetic skin-appearance score, a per-concern cosmetic assessment, and an optional illustrative "after" preview image. Facet does not use Face ID, the TrueDepth camera, or any biometric technology; it does not create or store a faceprint, face-geometry map, or biometric template; and it does not perform facial recognition or identification. On-device, we only check that a face is present in the photo before analysis — no biometric identifier is derived or kept.
Collection & use: ordinary face photographs you actively take or select, used solely for the cosmetic features above. We never use face data for identification, authentication, advertising, tracking, profiling, or model training.
Sharing: face photos are shared only if you enable AI analysis, and only with the sub-processors named above (Anthropic and Google), solely to return the result you requested. We do not sell or otherwise disclose them.
Storage & retention: your face photos are stored only on your device. We keep no server-side copy and our processing server does not log them; the sub-processors retain them only transiently to return the result, under their own policies. On your device, photos are retained until you remove them — use Delete My Data in Settings (which erases all stored scans and their photos) or delete the app. You control retention; there is no indefinite server-side storage.
To understand which features are used and improve the app, Facet records anonymous product-interaction events (for example, "a scan was completed" or "the routine was opened"). These are tied only to a random, per-install identifier that is not linked to your identity, contains no personal information, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. The identifier is reset when you use Delete My Data. No photos, scores, or answers are included in analytics.
Your scans, scores, routine, check-ins, and meals are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side copy of your personal results.
We do not sell your data, do not use your photos or any face data for advertising or tracking, and do not build advertising profiles.
You can revoke AI consent in Settings, and use Delete My Data in Settings to erase all locally stored scans, scores, check-ins, and meals. To request deletion of anything else or ask a question, email realsabimaru@gmail.com.
Facet is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Facet provides cosmetic suggestions for the appearance of skin. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Consult a dermatologist for medical concerns.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
